Hand dyed fabric rocks!

I spent a day last week in a class with Carol Soderlund, dyeing fabric.  What fun!  We did fabric parfaits (layers) of 4 different colorways, in both light and darks.

I didn’t smoosh mine enough, so I got more white spots than I like, but it was fun, and I learned a lot, and next time I will make sure all the fabric gets some dye on it.

The little 9-patch quilt is a baby gift for a friend, and also has hand dyed fabric in the alternate blocks.

beautiful fabric. Have you figured out a way to translate this look to barn quilts? 🙂

Not yet, but I don’t suppose it’s impossible. One thing that comes to mind is spongeing
